Balance & Vertigo Concerns?

Balance and Vertigo help with Kinetic Konnections

“Every time I get up or look up, the room starts to wobble and I have to stop so I don’t fall. I’m only 43—life isn’t supposed to be like this. I’ve had so many tests, but no one has any answers or can tell me what to do.”

The body contains very sophisticated ways of working to keep us safe without us realizing it. When something goes awry, we often experience it as a sensation of poor balance, unsteadiness, or spinning when standing. The common medical explanation is loose crystals in the ears. We find though that there are more reasons, which have nothing to do with the ears.

We meet you when you are at your wit’s end. You’ve gotten evaluations, and perhaps adjustments from your chiropractor. You feel better but still unsteady. You might have had a neurology workup and done vestibular therapy, which makes you feel awful.

Don’t despair. Yes, it can change and we can help.

How We Help

We take a different approach. We look at your body’s functional relationships, which often end up being the cause of your symptoms. We look at how all the parts of you work together with your vision and sense of security/balance.

We look at life’s events and how these impact your body’s finely-tuned relationships between postural control, movement and sensory systems. Often there is a prior injury or surgery which plays a role in your unsteadiness.

Some of the common events we find impacting are:

  • Auto accidents, especially rear or side collisions
  • Compensations from immobilization during and after medical procedures
  • Foot injuries or immobilization from leg injuries (cast/boot)
  • A fall where you caught yourself with your shoulder or arm. This throws off your head positioning.
  • Head injuries

Next Steps

We help with linking your body back together with balance and vision. The intricacies of how your feet, core, head, and vision relate to each other directly affect your sense of balance and security.

If this resonates with you, here are the next steps:

  1. Schedule your first appointment at a time that fits your life. The entire team can work with balance and vertigo concerns so schedule with any team member at a time that fits with your life.
  2. Read about the first visit.
  3. Complete the intake information.
  4. Relax.

Plan on two appointments to begin with. This first is often spent assessing and clearing compensations from past injuries. Another session is needed to test you in a more functional and dynamic nature. These are 55-minute appointments. Depending on your unique history we will recommend a plan for further follow-up as needed. Safety is always a consideration when working with balance concerns, so we take care to ensure you are well supported during every session.

“I was skeptical about the process itself until I found out that it does work.” Vic B (91)

Client Stories

Client 1

A client came to us after she fell due to vertigo.  We found that she had had Mho’s surgery on her face and a skin graft was taken from behind her ear. The surgery caused muscles on the side of her head to compensate which threw off her sense of balance. One session to re-teach a traumatized head how to work with its body was a huge help in solving her vertigo issues.

Client 2

A middle-aged woman called for help with vertigo. She had done all the ENT, Neuro and Vestibular testing with no specific cause found. Through our unique discovery process, we found that her feet had incurred various traumas through the years and were not able to respond well to changes in posture. This lack of sensory feedback from the feet caused poorly timed balance reactions from the brain, leaving her with a sense of unease. As we restored function in the feet and coordinated this with postural control and head movement, the vertigo symptoms dissipated.
